Candidate’s website has a few statements related to cycling and active transportation, including “Creating more paths for cyclists and electric bikes” and a platform on rapid transit.

Q: “What is your position on reopening Portage and Main to pedestrians?” “My view on this is simple, let the voters decide. Work is going to be done there anyways, the barricades will either be replaced or left down. I ask you listen to both sides, if you only drive through there, take some time between now and October 24th to walk through there using the underground. Take a moment to look around and see what other options can be presented to city hall. Please make sure they are accessible for everyone of all abilities.”
Q: “What should Winnipeg’s plan be for the future of public and active transit?” “Our city is growing and not slowing down, with more and more cars on the road everyday and construction on every major route, we need a LRT to run NORTH to SOUTH and EAST to WEST with stops along the way to pick up passengers. This would be an express surface which will drop and pick up passengers who will have taken a bus that runs strictly in their area, eliminating the long routes that some busses currently have.
There are more than just university students taking the bus. There are people who take the bus to work, for shopping and to get to appointments, so connection from the North for people working or going to school in the south can get there relatively quickly and affordably in hopes they refrain from using their personal cars.
Transit that goes around the perimeter would be great. With stops each intersection that are fed from feeder routes.
I support proper bike lanes that don’t merge onto the road ways. I would support, in the next couple years the possibility of snow clearing some of the major bike baths if they are being used regularly throughout the winter. It would be a cost benefit analysis.
I also believe that more walking paths are a good thing because people enjoy walking outside and seeing the real beauty of our city.”

Q: “How would you improve public transit service for people in the St. Norbert-Seine River ward?” “Our whole transit system kind of needs to be re-looked at. I would like to see a bus that can get you from St. Norbert to St. Vital Centre and not take you 45 minutes to an hour, because you’ve got to go all the way to the U of M first, and then sit there, transfer on a bus, and then go back up Bishop Grandin [Boulevard]. Meanwhile, it’s a 10-minute drive to the mall. So I want to introduce perimeter buses … so people in Charleswood who work in Transcona, the bus goes down the Perimeter [Highway] and it comes in, for example, off St. Mary’s [Road], off St. Anne’s [Road], and it feeds another smaller bus.… We need smaller feeder buses.”
