No specific statements or platform concerning cycling and active transportation appear on the candidate’s website.

Quote from website on multi-modal transportation:“I do not support opening the intersection of Portage and Main to pedestrian traffic. I also oppose the construction of any additional Bus Rapid Transit corridors in the City of Winnipeg.”

From Vote Winnipeg 2018 (Winnipeg Free Press) accessed 2 Oct 2018:

Q: “What should Winnipeg’s plan be for the future of public and active transit?”

A: “I oppose the construction of any new Bus Rapid Transit routes. I would like to see any future transit funding go towards the full-conversion of our city’s 623 transit buses from diesel-to-electric. I support the introduction of a low-income bus pass for those living in poverty. I believe that a well-funded and well-run public transportation is vital to our city. If elected, I will support a public and active transportation system that is safe, affordable, and accessible for all of our citizens.”

Q: “What is your position on reopening Portage and Main to pedestrians?”

A: “I am opposed to opening Portage and Main to pedestrian traffic. Opening up Portage and Main would create massive traffic problems and wreak havoc on transit schedules. There is also the cost involved in opening up the intersection. I believe that any accessibility issues underground can be adequately addressed without opening-up Portage and Main to pedestrian traffic.”

The candidate completed the 2018 all-candidate environmental survey: A coalition of Winnipeg Environmental Organizations compiled questions for an all-candidate (Mayoral and Councilor) survey with questions relating to the environment, including AT.
