We must increase investment in operation funding to transit to increase frequency, improve reliability and affordability of transit. I will work to reverse the 2018 25-cent fare increase.
I also want to work towards a safe and connected bike network. Residents in Daniel McIntyre want to have improved and safe bike infrastructure including protected bike lanes so they can access all neighbourhoods of the city in a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly way.”
Q: “What is your position on reopening Portage and Main to pedestrians?” “I have not been campaigning on the issue of Portage and Main. I fear this issue has become a distraction from many other important issues facing our city, and the decision of City Council to hold a referendum on this issue is unnecessarily polarizing. Ultimately, however the referendum vote turns out, I will work towards improving accessibility for all residents to every part of downtown, while maintaining safe traffic flow.”
