CPR Crossng Study Community Travel-Around & Workshop
December 4, 2014 @ 17:00 - 20:30
The Arlington Bridge is coming to the end of its useable life and fixing it is not possible. The goal of this study is to determine the best possible plan to move people and goods safely and efficiently across the CPR Yards when the Arlington Bridge closes.
The CPR Yards Crossing Study will look at a number of options for a new crossing in the area and at improving existing crossings of the CPR Yards between McPhillips Street and Salter Street.
Without doubt, the CPR Yards are one of the biggest obstacles to cycling in the City of Winnipeg, so we are very hopeful that this study will help define a plan to provide safe and convenient cycling routes over the CPR Yards.
As part of the public participation process, the consultants undertaking the study have organized a Community Travel-Around/Bus Tour and Planning Workshop. The bus tour will leave Rossbrook House (658 Ross Ave) at 5 p.m., with a 2nd pick up location at the North Centennial Recreation and Leisure Facility (90 Sinclair) at 5:15 p.m. The Planning Workshop and pizza/refreshments will start at Rossbrook House at 6:30 p.m. Please send rsvp’s to freig.associates@shaw.ca. Space on the bus tour will be limited, but there will be room for everyone at the workshop at Roosbrook, which starts at 6:30pm. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
