Covid-19 Update – Remaining 2020 Rides Cancelled
With today’s announcement that Manitoba’s public health officials will be elevating the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System level for the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region to Restricted (orange) effective Sept. 28, we have decided to cancel all remaining rides for 2020 to maintain the safety of our staff, volunteers, patrons, and community.
For those who have purchased tickets to our October 3rd Pedal Powered Ghost Tour, we will be providing full refunds (including fees) as soon as possible.
Thanks to everyone who had registered for rides this summer and fall. We had a great time offering these rides and getting out around the city. We look forward to offering rides again as soon as its safe to do so. We’ll see you all soon!
Why is Bike Winnipeg cancelling outdoor bike rides when the chances of outdoor transmission are slim-to-none and physical activity improves a person’s chances against coronavirus should that person get it? Why is there this concern for covid when traffic on the road is a much greater hazard to riders?
Hi Dustin,
We are simply complying with public health requirements limiting group sizes in public places.
