SUMMARY:Waverley Underpass Public Open House
DESCRIPTION:The Waverley Underpass Project will include replacement of the existing at-grade railway crossing at Waverley and Taylor with an underpass\, along with reconstruction and rehabilitation of Waverley Street. Taylor Avenue\, between Waverley Street and Lindsay Street\, will also be expanded to four lanes. This project will not only improve traffic flow but will also enhance safety\, mobility and capacity as well as active transportation within the project area. A preliminary design study was completed in 2015\, and the project is now moving ahead with construction. \nCurrently\, the Waverley Underpass project is undergoing detailed engineering design and we are preparing for preliminary construction activities to begin in January 2017 with major construction of the project beginning in May 2017.\n\nThere will be a Public Open House presenting the detailed design plans and the proposed construction staging on Thursday\, October 6 from 3:30-5:30pm and 7:00-9:00pm at the Caboto Centre\, 1055 Wilkes Avenue.\n\nCity of Winnipeg Waverley Underpass Website Portal
