SUMMARY:Popup Engagement: Downtown Protected Bike Lane Network
DESCRIPTION:Recommended designs for the Fort/Garry portion of the Downtown Protected Bike Lane Network and the West Alexander Pedestrian and Cycling Corridor have been released by the city and can be viewed here. \nVisit the consulting team to view the recommended designs\, speak with members of the project team\, provide your feedback and ask questions about the study. \nDATE: Thursday\, June 23\, 2016\nTIME: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.\nLOCATION: The Forks (South Atrium)\nFORMAT: Drop-by (come and go) \nDowntown Protected Bike Lane Network\nThe City is recommending a two way protected bike lane on the east side of Garry Street. No improvements are included for the painted bike lane on Fort Street\, which is disappointing. You can view the plans for the Downtown Protected Bike Lane Network here. \nProposed Half Signal for Main Street @ Assiniboine Avenue \nA half signal crossing of Main Street at the eastern end of Assiniboine has also been recommended. We are happy to see this\, and hope that the signal will provide timely crossings of Main Street for people walking or biking across Main Street. \nWest Alexander Pedestrian & Cycling Corridor\nThe City s recommending a two way protected bike lane on the south side of McDermot Avenue \nSee our previous news item on the Downtown Protected Bike Lane Network for our recommendations on street configurations and links to important guidelines. \n
