SUMMARY:Grant Park Campus Open House
DESCRIPTION:The City of Winnipeg is seeking community input on improving recreation and leisure options on land located west of Grant Park Shopping Centre as part of a planning process. \nThe current site of the Grant Park Campus\, bounded by Grant Avenue to the north and Taylor Avenue to the south\, is home to several well-used facilities including the Pan Am Pool\, the Charles A. Barbour Indoor Arena\, and outdoor soccer fields. \nPublic input will help the City determine how best to upgrade and rejuvenate the site with the overall goal of creating a connected\, vibrant community campus offering year-round active living and leisure options for all ages. \nA modernized indoor arena\, open green spaces\, community gardens and a new public library are among the amenities the City is exploring. \nPublic input gathered as part of this process will lead to a detailed Grant Park Community Campus Plan that will guide short-term and long-term renewal of the area in a way that supports the needs and aspirations of families\, residents\, students\, and seniors. \nBike Winnipeg would like to ensure that the redeveloped campus provides access for people on foot and bike\, and if possible improves connectivity for people biking in the neighbourhood. We also think that there may be potential for a future AT tunnel beneath the CN mainline that would connect Nathaniel Steet to Parker Station and the SWRTC AT pathway\, and that connections to this tunnel should be considered during this study. You can view a map of the tunnel being proposed (separate from this project) by Bike Winnipeg here. \nLearn About the Project and Provide Your Input on Grant Park Campus Plans\nThere are many ways for you to provide feedback for this project: \n\n\nAttend the Project Public Open House\nLocation: Pan Am Pool (25 Poseidon Bay)\nDate: Thursday\, April 6th\nTime: 4:00 – 8:00p.m.\n\nFeedback Form:\nPick up and fill out a Feedback Sheet at your local Winnipeg Library Branch or the Pan Am Pool.\n\nOnline Survey\nFill out the online survey and tell us what you think! \nSurvey participants have the chance to be entered into a draw to win 2 tickets to Folklorama 2017.
